Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday hit out at Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Keshav Prasad Maurya saying, “Ready for elections in Bihar tomorrow, but if you have the courage do it simultaneously for Uttar Pradesh too.” He further said, “NDA, BJP people from Bihar and UP who have won, should resign from Lok Sabha membership, and conduct fresh elections then.” Nitish Kumar further launched an attack on the BJP saying, “promises made to farmers have not been met.” While further talking on the farmer issue he told ABP News, “farmers aren’t receiving good price…. The policy should be made on a national level in favour of farmers. Waving off loans won’t end ordeals of the farmers.”
This comment by the Janata Dal (United) leader comes a day after UP Deputy Chief Minister Maurya dared him to hold fresh assembly polls by dissolving the state assembly. In a meeting in Patna on June 11 to showcase the achievements of Narendra Modi government, Keshav Prasad Maurya dared the Bihar CM to hold polls if he has faith in his own good work done in Bihar saying, “They think that the alliance government of Congress, JD(U) and RJD is very powerful one. If it is so, then Nitish Kumar should not wait for 2019 Lok Sabha polls, rather he should dissolve assembly and hold elections afresh. Lotus will blossom here too like in UP,” as quoted by PTI.
