The NIA has summoned two Kashmiri separatist leaders — Ghazi Javed Baba and Farooq Ahmed Dar aka Bitta Karate — here on Monday for questioning in connection with alleged funding from Pakistan-based terrorist groups, officials said on Sunday.”We have summoned the two to appear before the National Investigation Agency officials at our Delhi headquarters at 10.30 a.m. on Monday,” an NIA official told IANS requesting anonymity.According to the agency officials, the separatist leaders have been asked to bring along details of their bank accounts and property papers.

Last week, the counter-terror agency questioned Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Baba and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Dar for four consecutive days in Srinagar, regarding their alleged involvement in raising, receiving funds through hawala channels for stoking violence in Kashmir. On May 20, the agency had collected details of 13 accused and charge-sheeted accused in cases of arson attacks on schools and public property in Kashmir.

The agency had on May 19 questioned suspended Hurriyat leader Nayeem Khan — who was shown in a sting operation by India Today news channel while confessing that Pakistan was pumping in money to stoke trouble in the Valley in connivance with Hurriyat leaders.

The channel aired the sting video on May 16 in which Khan admitted that money from Pakistan-based organisations was routed through hawala. The official said the agency was probing all aspects of funding of separatist leaders and use of these funds in fuelling the unrest in the Valley after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani on July 8, 2016.

The agency registered a preliminary inquiry against Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and his close aide and Hurriyat provincial President Nayeem Khan, Dar and Baba. The separatist leaders were alleged to have received money from the Lashkar-e-Taiba and other sources in Pakistan to fund stone-pelting and violent protests in Jammu and Kashmir.

NC, Separatists and Congress leaders are solely responsible for present large scale violence in J&K since these corrupts and anti-national leaders have utilized this state for grazing purposes only and imposed forceful acute poverty to remain in power. These leaders are living in foreign heavens(LONDON) lavishly and are enjoying luxurious life by looting all resources of state in past. This fact is well known to all residents of state who should act decisively against these corrupt politicians who are responsible for unemployment, acute poverty and backwardness all over state. Why the present PDP govt is sitting idle and is not ARRESTING & SEIZING ETS of corrupt anti-national leaders who are responsible for current violence in J&K? The economic development of state is must to tackle terrorism and divert attention of youths from anti-national activities. CORRUPTION MUST BE CURBED AT ALL COST WHICH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PRESENT PRECARIOUS CONDITION SINCE ALL GOVT IN PAST.
