A close aide of the ‘wanted’ underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is arrested in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, today. Raviraj Singh was running fake money racket in the Nepal and reportedly representing Dawood, the leader of the Indian organised crime syndicate D-Company founded in Mumbai, in Nepal.
According to the reports, the central investigation bureau (CIB) of Nepal police has arrested Raviraj and started the probe. It is to be known that the man was once arrested and put behind teh bars in the past. However, he was released after a period of around one year.
It can be taken as a major breakthrough when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government has increased its effort to locate and grab Dawood. He is accused of heading an illegal empire in India, against the country. After the Bombay bombings (1993), which he allegedly organised and financed with Tiger Memon, both became India’s most wanted men. According to some information, the wanted criminal may be hiding in neighbouring Pakistan. Catching him and bringing him back is one of the top priorities of the central government.
The don hits number three position on the The World’s 10 Most Wanted.
