Versatile actor Nana Patekar on Wednesday urged Kashmiri youths to accept India as their own nation. During his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “Bachon padh lo,mainstream mein aajao; isese kuch nhi hoga. Desh ko apna samajh lo pir sab cheezein asaan hongi (Children, study and come in mainstream, this is not going to change the things; just accept this nation as your own than everything will be easy).”

Known for his sense of patriotism apart from acting, the 65-year-old actor visited Kathua district of the state and met the family of martyr jawan Gurnam Singh, who lost his life while foiling an infiltration bid in Kathua sector. After meeting jawan’s family he said, “How can I increase the determination of our soldiers; the inspire me instead.Very happy to meet them”. “Na Eid hai na Holi ya Diwali (no Eid, no Holi and no Diwali), they are still so happy. They don’t even want holidays,” he said about the determination of soldiers.

On the ongoing menace over demonetisation Patekar said, “This is a very good step taken by government; we can bear a little inconvenience for the nation. We have tolerated many things for many years, so, can we accept this inconvenience for only 10-20 days.”

Earlier apart from movies he was in headlines for helping drought-hit farmers in Maharashtra, thereafter, helps poured in for farmers.
