Former Punjab director general of police Julio Ribeiro has today questioned the manner in which Khalistani terrorist Harminder Singh Mintoo managed to escape yesterday along with four others. While congratulating Delhi Police for nabbing him earlier in the day, the former DGP expressed concern that the Nabha jailbreak was pre-planned.
He also observed that the dressing up of terrorists as cops is an old trick and should have been aanticipated but people had become complacent and did not do their duties properly. Speaking to ANI, Julio Ribeiro pointed out that the Khalistan movement was able to resurrect in Punjab on last two years because of drugs smuggling in the state.
The former Punjab DGP further said that it was good that Harminder Singh Mintoo was caught today, otherwise it would have been quite dangerous.
