Mumbai Monorail, India’s first monorail, is stuck near the city’s Bhakti Park station since 6:30 AM, today morning. According to news reports, the monorail is stuck on the stretch due to some technical glitch. All passengers have been evacuated, but are believed to have been stranded in the monorail for around one and a half hours. It is being reported that power supply problems may have caused the glitch. Mumbai monorail has been in news recently for a number of snags and incidents including tyres falling off on the road.
Mumbai Monorail was inaugurated in 2014, and has two phases; phase I from Wadala-Chembur, and phase II from Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk-Wadala. More details on today’s incident are awaited.
