Finally residents of Mumbai have reasons to be cheerful. The city is soon to be relieved from the heat that had engulfed the atmosphere. While rains did pay a visit to the city a day before, the showers remained light in nature.
The met department has today issued weather alert for the citizens whereby heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected for today, tomorrow and day after tomorrow in the city.
The Colaba Observatory in Mumbai have already received a massive rainfall of 49.4 mm in the past 24 hrs. The reason for such forecast can be attributed to the low-pressure area which is currently over Telangana and adjoining areas. Moisture incursion has increased over the coastal city of Maharashtra resulting in scattered heavy rains.
The Mumbaikars can explain widespread heavy monsoon starting from tomorrow evening, the intensity of rain is expected to be heavy from around September 17 and 18. Possibility of heavy downpour is more likely.
