With the NDA Government all set to complete three years, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said that the mood of the nation is with PM Narendra Modi and wants to go with him, an ANI report said today. “Mood of the nation is ‘Go with Modi’, be it Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Karnataka or anywhere”, he was quoted to have said by the news agency.

While speaking about the Triple Talaq issue, the minister said that the government was ready to bring a legislation to stop it if needed, but only after the community comes up with a positive conclusion following internal discussions, a PTI report said.

“If necessary, the (Central) government will bring in a legislation, but after allowing the community to reach a positive conclusion after internal deliberations,” Union Minister was quoted as saying by PTI in Bengaluru. Naidu felt that Muslims, like Hindus who have abolished so many social evils, are also working towards ending of triple talaq, which is against the interest of women of the community. “Dowry, Sati, child marriage – all of these, the society came forward and finally decisions were made (to end these social evils),” the PTI quoted the minister as saying further.

Pointing that the matter is subjudice in the Supreme Court, the minister urged the community to give the proper response to the issue, as it is also about gender discrimination and gender justice, the agency added.
