According to the latest trends in MCD election results, Delhi appears to have rejected the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal’s brand of politics. Meanwhile, BJP is most likely to retain power in all the three municipal corporations in Delhi. Interestingly, AAP leaders have come out to blame the EVMs for the election results. The MCD elections were held on April 23 which saw a voter turnout of almost 53.58 per cent, marginally higher than the 2012 elections. With AAP failing to secure a win in any of the three municipal corporations, party leaders are currently meeting at Delhi CM and party chief Arvind Kejriwal’s house. Meanwhile, there are all kinds of reactions to the MCD election results on social media websites. While many trolled Delhi CM Kejriwal, congratulations poured in for BJP on Twitter.
According to the latest data by ABP news, BJP is leading in 181 seats, Congress is ahead in 34 seats while AAP is leading in 41 wards. Others are leading in 14 wards. Following the recent victories in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajouri Garden by-poll in Delhi, BJP seems to be all set to win a majority of the MCD seats for the third consecutive term. Here are a few examples of how Twitterati reacted on the MCD poll results:
