Mathura robbery case: 6 arrested with stolen jewellery, Hema Malini sends condolences for those affected

The local police have arrested 6 people in relation to the Mathura robbery case which led to the murder of two a couple of days ago

The local police have arrested 6 people in relation to the Mathura robbery case which led to the murder of two a couple of days ago, as reported by Aaj Tak. The report added that police was engaged in an encounter with the accused from 5 am on Saturday morning and the arrests were made at 6:30 am. As per the report, 7 policemen got injured in the event while 2 accused were also shot. They were later taken to the hospital.

Actor and BJP’s member of parliament, Hema Malini on Friday evening had taken to Twitter to reveal that she is touch with the SSP and will be going to Mathura soon. “I will be going to Mathura soon to be with my people. My heart goes out to the bereaved family & all others who have also been affected.” However, the veteran actress added that she is mum right now due to her family commitments. “I am fully aware of the unsavoury developmnts in Mathura & am in touch with the SSP. I am in Mum due to some pressing family commitments now,” she wrote.

A few days ago six armed robbers, with their faces covered with scarves and helmets, barged into a jewellery shop in Mathura’s City Kotwali area late Monday, killing the shop owner and his friend before escaping with cash and jewellery worth lakhs, reported The Indian Express. City Kotwali police Station House Officer Surendra Pal Singh was quoted saying in the report: “Around 8.15 pm on Monday, the gang members with their faces covered stormed into jewellery shop ‘Mayank Chain’ at Koyla Wali Gali. Mayank and Vikas — both owners of the shop — were sitting along with Megh Agarwal, who has a jewellery shop in Delhi. Ashok and Mohammad Ali too were present.”

“The robbers, all of whom were carrying pistols, opened fire. While Megh was hit on the face, Vikas on injured on the head and stomach, Mayank on his shoulder and stomach and Ashok too in the stomach. Mohammad Ali was hit with butt of the pistol by the robbers,” said the SHO.
