Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his 34th edition of radio programme Mann Ki Baat at 11 am today. The announcement was made by the Prime Minister himself who took to Twitter on Saturday and asked people to tune in for the episode. “This month’s #MannKiBaat will take place on Sunday, 30th July at 11 AM. Tune in,” PM Modi wrote on the micro-blogging website Twitter. The programme will be broadcast on Akashwani in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast. It will be repeated on the Akashwani at 8 pm and will also be streamed on the YouTube channels of the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and DD News.

11:31 AM: PM says even though the team failed to win the title, it did win the hearts of the people.

11:30 AM: Narendra Modi added that he told the team that the expectations of people have increased because of media. But, even though the team failed to win, the people took the burden on their shoulders.

11:28 AM: Talking about the Women’s cricket team, PM Modi he got a chance to meet the players this week and could sense that the team was disappointed as they lost in the final.

11:26 AM: PM said this year we will observe the 75th Anniversary of the Quit India Movement but only a few people know that the slogan, ‘Quit India’ was coined by Dr. Yusuf Meher Ali.

11:25 AM: PM Modi has also launched the QuitIndiaQuizApp which he believes will help the youngsters to know the history better.

11:23 AM: “Quit India Movement also known as ‘Agast Kranti’ began on 9th August 1942 & on 15th August 1947 India became independent,” PM said.
