Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through his latest edition of Mann Ki Baat programme. In the latest episode, Prime Minister talked about a number of issues ranging from the importance of Yoga and to making India clean. PM started his address by greeting nation on Ramzan and later remembered Veer Savarkar on his Jayanti. He asked three generations of the families to do Yoga together on International Yoga Day and share an image of that.
Here are highlights of his address:
11:29 AM: “The art work was done by a UAE based artist, Akbar Saheb. He did not charge any money for his artwork. This was a great gesture,” PM said.
11:27 AM: Talking about the book on Mann Ki Baat that was launched two days ago, PM Modi thanked President Pranab Mukherjee and Lok Sabha speaker for taking out time and attending the event.
11:25 AM: “I am very happy people are evaluating our work in great detail. I welcome this. Mann Ki Baat has connected me with every Indian, in a very special way,” PM Modi said.
11:22 AM: PM Modi added that he wanted to make cleanliness a mass movement and thanked people who took time and assessed the work done by the government.
11:20 AM: These dustbins will be placed for liquid and dry wastes. He also hailed Afroz Shah’s effort who cleared Versova beach in Mumbai.
11:18 AM: He said under this new schemes, two types of dust-bins will be placed across the various countries.
11:16 AM: PM Modi asks people to find new ways of waste management. He said the Indian government has planned a new waste management scheme with the help of state governments.
11:12 AM: PM Modi asks three generations of the family to do Yoga together, take a picture and upload it on International Yoga Day.
11:10 AM: Talking about Yoga, he said it is integrating the world today. He added that Yoga guarantees both wellness and fitness.
11:09 AM: He said nature always refreshes us and added that our ancestors conserved nature and we must show the same compassion towards future generations.
11:08 AM: PM Modi urges people to connect with nature. He said connecting with nature is nothing but connecting with ourselves.He said people should connect with nature to nurture a better planet.
11:05 AM: PM recalled his cellular jail visit and said people from all over India were imprisoned in the cellular jail.
11:04 PM: “Today we remember Veer Savarkar on his Jayanti. He spent time at the ‘Kaala Pani’ and there he wrote a lot,” Modi said.
11:03 AM: I am happy to see youngsters are taking interest in lives of our freedom fighters, who spent their lives in jail. He added all the freedom fighters who spent time in jail contributed to Indian literature.
11:02 AM: “I said that during the holidays get out of your comfort zone, do something new. I am glad lot of people shared their experiences with me,” he added.
11:01 AM: PM Modi said India’s diversity is its strength. He added that we are proud that people from all faiths live in India in a harmonious manner.

10:45 AM: PM Modi greeted the nation on the holy month of Ramadan. “Greetings on the start of Ramzan. May this holy month enhance the spirit of togetherness, peace and harmony across the world,” he posted on Twitter.
10:30 AM: “The party has promised to provide housing facilities to all by 2022. The policy of ‘Jahan Jhuggi Wahin Makan’ given by BJP will be boosted by Shah’s visit as he could advise the Centre about it,” said a senior Delhi BJP leader.
10:15 AM: BJP chief Amit Shah has decided to listen to the latest episode with slum dwellers in R K Puram of Delhi. He will be accompanied by Shyan Jaju. “We have instructed our party workers to connect people with Mann Ki Baat and get them to listen to it. Our party president will visit Ravidas Ashram under the same programme,” Jaju told PTI.
