Kerala has been reeling under the impact of the molestation case in which a popular actress was abducted and harassed by a ‘quotation’ gang that threatened to inject her with drugs and take her to a flat. They had reportedly told her they were part of a ‘quotation’ gang. The latest development is that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan spoke to the actress and has assured her that action will be taken against the guilty. Hours earlier, Union Minister Maneka Gandhi had slammed the Chief Minister for his inaction on the rising crimes against women and children in the state.
She had minced no words in saying that the state is ruled by criminals and mafia gangs and that neither the bureaucrats nor his own ministers took the chief minister seriously. She further demanded that President’s rule should be imposed in Kerala as there has been a complete breakdown of law and order in the state as women and children were being targeted by gangs and cops were not taking action.
In less than an hour after Union Minister Maneka Gandhi’s statement, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reportedly spoke to the actress. Local TV news channels have reported that he has assured the actress that action will be taken against the guilty.
