The Kerala High Court has rejected bail plea of actor Dileep. The prosecution highlighted the gravity of the case and also asserted that this is the first of its kind case in the country where a quotation was given to sexually assault a woman. Actor Dileep had been arrested on July 10 and has been in jail for more than ten days now. Dileep has been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The charges against the actor include hatching criminal conspiracy for abduction and assault of the young Malayalam actress. The initial local news reports by Manorama and Mathrubhumi stated that the actor blamed the breakup of his first marriage on the actress. However, the police are also investigating all financial transactions and real estate deals of the actor to determine the real motive for what had transpired.
Although the actor had moved Kerala High Court earlier, the court had reserved its verdict. The prosecution emphasized on the fact that Dileep should not be granted bail as he is involved in a case which has very grave charges. However, Dileep’s counsel had informed the court that there was no evidence at all against the actor.
The police remand report that had been submitted to the Angamaly court stated that the actor has not been co-operating with the police. Conflicting reports have also emerged in the local media updates and TV channels. The police remand report had mentioned that Dileep’s answers to some questions indicate clearly that he had demanded ”original” video of the attacked actress. Meanwhile, in one of his statements, while being taken from court, Pulsar Suni had told reporters that the actual sharks are still out there.
This message from Pulsar Suni sent everyone into a tizzy of speculation about the actor who is in jail. However, the actor’s counsel has repeatedly asserted in court that there is no evidence that the prosecution can produce against him.
