In a heart-wrenching crime, a Madhya Pradesh woman has allegedly slit the throat of her one-year-old daughter for constantly crying for milk. The incident reportedly took place in a village in Madhya Pradesh. The woman was later arrested from the village in Dhar which is around four hours away from the state capital, Bhopal. No one else was present on the spot when the woman reportedly slit the throat of her baby with a sickle. The news was confirmed by police on Friday morning.
While talking to media, police officer CB Singh said that the woman killed her child as she got irritated. He also confirmed that a sickle was used for the murder. “The child was crying for milk and the mother was working in the kitchen. She got irritated and lost her temper. She took the sickle and struck her, killing her instantly,” CB Singh said.
The woman thereafter locked up the house and left without her child. After committing the brutal crime, the woman had reportedly gone to a relative’s house. Another relative who suspected something was wrong, went to the house with neighbours and forced open the door. Everyone was shocked to find the infant lying still, soaked in blood.
Last month, a Kerala woman had killed her 14-year-old son by strangling him with a dupatta. The woman with her husband, who had no idea about this crime, then went to a police station to register a complaint about their missing son. On interrogating the woman, she made the chilling confession of having killed her son in a fit of anger.
The boy’s burnt remains were recovered from an empty plot 300 meters away from the house on the evening of 17th January. The woman also confessed that she had dragged the body of her son to the plot all by herself.
