Madhya Pradesh farmers protest: Speaking on the Mandsaur violence on Thursday afternoon, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that the government has got information that some forces tried to instigate people and an investigation of the matter will be carried out, reported ANI. “Jankari mili ki kuch takten jinhone instigate karne ki koshish kari,puri jaanch ho rahi hai,report ki prateeksha karni chahiye (there is information that some forces tried to instigate and an investigation will be done, should wait for the report),” he said. The HM added that NDA-BJP government will never do anything that will break the trust of the common man. “NDA-BJP ki sarkaar koi aisa kaam nahi karegi jisse kisaan aur aam aadmi ka bharosa tute (NDA-BJP government will never do anything that breaks the trust of farmers and common man),” he added.
Talking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh said PM’s diplomatic skills have helped India to fight terrorism. “PM through his diplomatic skills has been successful to bring international community onboard on terrorism,” he said. Singh added that BJP has successfully fought against Left-wing extremism. “BJP govt has got success on Left Wing Extremism front. We are extending full support to states on this, wholeheartedly,” the Home Minister said while speaking at an event in Mumbai.
He is scheduled to hold a meeting with the chief ministers of four Northeastern states that neighbour Myanmar to discuss plans to check cross-border movement of insurgents and smugglers. The meeting is set to take place on June 12 and will be attended by Pema Khandu, Shurhozelie Liezietsu, N Biren Singh and Lal Thanhawla, the chief ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram respectively.
The meeting will see discussions on the status of infrastructure along the Indo-Myanmar border, implementation of development projects and streamlining the ‘free movement regime’ for better facilitation of movement of people across the border, an official statement said.
