Rahul Gandhi in Mandsaur Live Updates: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was today detained by Madhya Pradesh police while he was trying to reach Mandsaur to meet families of farmers. Gandhi has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue. Earlier in the day, BJP government has transferred the collector and superintendent of police of Mandsaur district. Six farmers were killed allegedly in police firing in Mandsaur. As violence spread to other areas of the state, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore each for the families of six farmers. The BJP government has also announced a loan settlement scheme. The central government has rushed additional forces to tackle the situation. The farmers have been protesting since June 1. Their demands included higher minimum support prices (MSP) for their produce and loan waiver.

      Congress is indulging in politics to bring down the Nation. They are the ones who gave loans to the rich. The farmers in Madhya Pradesh have received tremendous help from the government and still these people want to ferment trouble using vested interests and your paper gives it such a big coverage. Very unfair
