A lookout notice was issued against Honeypreet Singh by the Haryana police on Friday morning, as per ANI report. Honeypreet Singh is the adopted daughter of rape convict Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. It was being reported that Honeypreet had gone into hiding after the sentencing of the Dera chief. She was one of the front runners to become the new Dera Sacha Sauda chief. The Haryana government is already looking into how Honeypreet was allowed to board the chopper that took Ram Rahim out of the Panchkula court complex in Haryana after his conviction in a rape case last Friday.
Back then, some photographs had gone viral showing that Honeypreet accompanied the Dera Sacha Sauda chief to court and also sat beside him in the chopper. Ram Rahim Singh was sentenced to 20 years in jail this Monday. Honeypreet was adopted by the Dera chief and describes herself on Twitter as, “Papa’s angel, philanthropist, director, editor, actress and passionate to transform my rockstar papas directions into actions.” She claims to be an actor, director and editor, who has assisted her guru papa in his film ventures.
Honeypreet first made the headlines in 2011 after her husband who was also a Dera follower and a resident of Panchkula approached the Punjab and Haryana high court alleging that the preacher sexually exploited his wife. The man later withdrew the petition after an out-of-court settlement.
Honeypreet’s real name is Priyanka Taneja. She is considered very close to Ram Rahim. She studied in a school run by the Dera management. She is also known to be influential in the Dera.
