The Lodha committee meeting headed by Justice Lodha decided on Monday to submit a report to the Supreme Court of India about the impediments by the BCCI. Stating the reasons of the submission of the report, Justice Lodha said that the committee found impediments in the implementations of the court order by the BCCI. The Lodha committee was scheduled to meet today to discuss a number of issues including the ones where the BCCI had faltered in implementing the reforms in accordance to the orders given by the Supreme Court.
The BCCI was ordered to submit a report to the Lodha committee by September 100 but had failed to meet the deadline. The board made matters worse when it went ahead with its Annual General Meeting and took a few decisions that were in clear violations of the Supreme Court’s order. The BCCi though had come up with a statement saying that all the decisions that had been taken at the Annual general Meeting were according to the orders of the Supreme Court.
the Supreme Court had earlier ordered that the National selection committee was to have 3 sectors. However, BCCi had gone on with its traditional trend of having 5 selectors in the Selection committee and appointed a new committee, which was headed by MSK Prasad, the former cricketer. It is now to be seen what action the Supreme Court takes, following the submission of the report by the Lodha committee.
