The meeting comes after Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited the state, where he assessed the situation on ground and held meetings with the stakeholders of civil society, political parties, Pahari community leaders and several individuals to understand what needed to be done to restore normalcy in the Valley.

Moreover, last week the Opposition leaders led by former chief minister Omar Abdullah met President Pranab Mukherjee and PM Modi in order to find a “political solution” and not just an administrative one. The Prime Minister had expressed his deep concern and pain over the situation in the valley and asked all political parties to work together to find a permanent and lasting solution to problems in the state.
