Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held bilateral talks with his Thai counterpart Gen Prayut Chan-o-Cha. The meeting focused on deeper relations between the two countries. trade and investment, defence, security and tourism will be on the top agenda. The two leaders also held discussion to explore ways to expand maritime security cooperation, deal with threat of terrorism and boost trade.

Earlier this day, Thailand’s Prime Minister, Gen Prayut Chan-o-Cha, has received a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhawan. After inspecting the Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Thai PM laid a wreath at the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi.

PM Modi, will now host a banquet lunch in honour of the visiting Thai PM and his delegation. Post the event the, Thai PM will meet Vice President Shri M Hamid Ansari. The visiting PM is expected to deliver a speech at the business event hosted by FICCI/CII/ASSOCHAM today. 

The India Thailand Joint Business Forum will hold their first meeting during the visit and convey their recommendations at the business event on 17 June. 

Chan-o-Cha is accompanied by his wife Naraporn Chan-o-cha, as well as a delegates of high level government officials including several Cabinet Ministers and a 46-member business delegation.

After New Delhi, the Thai PM will visit Bodhgaya on 18 June before departing for Thailand.
