While wishing the nation on the occasion of Diwali in his 25th ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India is a country which celebrates one or the other festivals in 365 days of the year. He also asked the countrymen to dedicate this year’s Diwali to soldiers and said that it is because of them that we are able to celebrate the festival of light in our homes. Earlier, he had invited people to share their thoughts on the Narendra Modi App and MyGov Open Forum.

My best wishes to countrymen on Diwali.

India is a country which celebrates one or the other festivals in 365 days of the year: PM Modi.

All forms of darkness are to be fought with a “deep” of Diwali, we are eliminating all the darkness from inside us and the world around: PM.

Everyone is talking about cleanliness and environment today. In fact, everyone cleans their homes vigorously for Diwali, he says
I request parents & guardians that if their little kids are bursting crackers they should be monitored & accompanied: PM Modi.

From last few months our jawans are sacrificing their lives, we should celebrate this Diwali in their name: PM Narendra Modi.

#Sandesh2Soldiers hashtag was used so much by everyone and we were flooded with well wishes & love for jawans from citizens: PM Modi.

Be it BSF, CRPF etc, our jawans are on duty and guarding us; that is why we are celebrating Diwali joyfully: PM Modi.

He talks about states making good progress in becoming open defecation-free.

We have to forget about all our customs & traditions and treat a girl and a boy equally, and we are moving fast: PM Modi.

Tomorrow we are celebrating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. We are also remembering Indira Gandhi tomorrow: PM Modi.

PM says Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel worked to bring everyone together, he worked for unity, fought for unity and brought unity amongst people.

But on one Sardar’s birthday, history remembers how sikh people & “sardars” all over the country faced violence & pain, he says.
Which is why we all need to learn that we all must unite, and work towards unity rather than allow divisiveness to spread: PM Modi.
