At least three army men were killed and four terrorists were killed in the morning in the exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in Nagrota town Jammu and Kashmir. Soon after the attack, the area was cordoned off by security forces and all schools were closed. Early morning reports had said that some terrorists had holed up in the area.
According to a local, they first heard the sound early in the morning, after which security forces asked them to go inside their homes, a News X report said. The channel also said at least two infiltration attempt were done by terrorists since last night. an official further said that situation currently was under control but details would be shared once the operation is over.
A suspicious movement was also noticed in the Border Outpost in Chamliyal area of Samba by the BSF after which they exchanged gunfire with terrorists.
Yesterday there was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Langate area of Handwara. India has repeatedly been subjected to cross-border firing by Pakistan after the India conducted surgical strike and destroyed terrorists’ launch pads on September 29 this year, following the Uri terror attack in which 19 soldiers have been killing.

Meanwhile, reacting on the attack, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has said that no civilians had been targetted by militants as they sought local support and therefore the attack was on military installations.
