In a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, India has decided to diplomatically isolate Pakistan at every international grouping, reported ANI quoting sources. According to the report, India is to present all actionable evidence against Pakistan if required at international bodies. It has been reported that the Indian Permanent Mission to UN will issue a statement taking on Islamabad soon after Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will make his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
In one of the worst terror attacks on the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir, 18 army soldiers were killed and 19 others were injured on Sunday morning when four heavily armed fedayeen stormed into the administrative buildings and store complex of an infantry battalion in Uri, home of the 12 Infantry Brigade, near the Line of Control (LoC). The four terrorists were neutralised after a three-hour long gunfight. As per the initial probe, it is maintained that the militants belonged to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammad. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack, Army chief General Dalbir Singh and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar flew to Srinagar to take stock of the situation.

07.00: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to brief PM Modi on Uri attack today, reports Times Now.
Soon after the attack took place, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh called Pakistan a “terrorist state” and said that it should be identified and isolated as such. I am deeply disappointed with Pakistan’s continued and direct support to terrorism and terrorist groups, added Singh. Minister of State for External Affairs M J Akbar also hit out at Pakistan, saying it has reduced itself to “pariah” status in the international community because of its hypocrisy and its blatant sponsorship of terrorism and of terrorists.
While, taking a stock of the situation, Ranbir Singh, Director General Military Operations (DGMO) briefed the media saying the terrorists had certain items that confirm their Pakistani identity.
Briefing the press about the consequent events, the DGMO said, “13-14 soldiers died primarily because of the fire that engulfed the tents they were residing in, while the others were killed in the gunfire. The terrorists opened fire with incendiary ammunition, which led to tents and temporary shelters located inside the army camp catching fire.”
“We have recovered four AK 47 rifles, four Under Barrel Grenade Launchers and other war like stores from the terrorists. Since terrorists had some items which had Pakistani markings on them,I have spoken to the Pakistan DGMO on same,” added DGMO Singh.
Moreover, Senior intelligence officials in Srinagar told The Indian Express that besides infiltration inputs for the Uri sector sent by them on September 12 and 13, a specific detailed intelligence alert had been generated by them on September 15 September about a possible Fidayeen attack in the area.
Meanwhile, both the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee condemned the attack and said that the perpetrators won’t go unpunished and neither will India be cowed from such incidents. Minister of State for External Affairs M J Akbar hit out at Pakistan, saying it has reduced itself to “pariah” status in the international community because of its hypocrisy and its blatant sponsorship of terrorism and of terrorists.
