AAP MP Bhagwant Mann has “apologised unconditionally” for posting a video on social media that showed Parliament’s security features. “I apologised unconditionally. I also assured that this won’t be repeated,” Bhagwant Mann said after being summoned by Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan. “I met Speaker Madam, and I told her that I must be given an opportunity to explain. My intention was not to risk the security of Parliament,” he said.
Mann on Thursday shared a video on Facebook wherein he is travelling from his place to the Parliament House, thereby putting the security of Parliament at risk. Mann recorded how he went past security personnels without being questioned.
An adamant and defiant Mann had said on Thursday that he would repeat the live streaming on Friday, and added that he had done nothing wrong.
He also said that he would apologise to the Lok Sabha Speaker if he was told that he had committed a mistake.
Maan has maintained that it was not his intention to endanger the security of Parliament or its members, and claimed that he only wanted to show people in his constituency in Punjab a glimpse of Parliament and its functioning.
