This refers to the report titled “Microsoft has real opportunity with cloud in India: Nadella” (May 1). Cloud computing is a revolutionary emerging technology and is going to prove to be a game-changer in internet-based mobile computing in the next few years. The user has everything to gain as she gets the services delivered to her phone through internet. The power of the user’s computer becomes irrelevant as the same is transported through the cloud to company’s powerful resources and delivered to user’s device through internet. The whole concept makes cloud-based computing simple, safe, secure and affordable for the user and completely suited to the growing use of mobile-based computing. It is no surprise that Microsoft is aggressively promoting this revolutionary concept which can turn the tables on its rivals in the field of mobile computing.

Yellen’s Fed more considerate?
Apropos of the column “Fed signals tightening, loosely” (May 1), the last time the Fed made any overtures with regards to its policy, it ended up harshly hitting India. The taper talk of the fed became a taper tantrum of American investors in foreign shores. The Fed chair Janet Yellen has been more considerate than her predecessor by hedging against the chances of any negative spillover in the US and elsewhere. Yellen-led Fed has also signalled that it will go easy on forward guidance by saying all its actions will be data-dependent. Now, though the columnist argues that a looser Fed policy will hurt the US in the long run, it is better that Yellen has set the institution on cruise mode.
