November 1, was observed as the foundation day of Haryana, and the ceremony in Gurgaon was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Haryana, which gives maximum number or soldiers and police personal to the country was formed on November 1, 1966.
Addressing the gathering in Gurgaon to celebrate Haryana Swarna Jayanti Utsav, PM Modi said, “Daughters of Haryana have made India very proud on multiple occasions; Let every citizen of Haryana pledge to protect girl child. He was referring to Sakshi Malik and Deepa Malik.
PM has also honoured Rio Paralympics Medallist Deepa Malik. Haryana is notorious for its worst sex ratio even than women from the touching heights in various fields.
Speaking about the sex ratio PM said, “In a distinguished state, female foeticide cannot exist, hence, Haryana has undertaken an effort to ensure this doesn’t happen.”
Further, PM Modi appriciated state’s growth and it’s ranking in the country in context of business and job opportunities. “Today is a day to look back at the time when Haryana was formed and the aims with which the state was formed,” he said.
In the recent past the state has emerged as the first choice for foreign companies to establish units. Many multinational companies running their India centre from here.
“It is believed that Haryana has only farmers but see the exemplary success of businessmen from Haryana. May the process of transformation begin in our villages and when this happens, the development of Haryana will receive an impetus,” he further added.
Speaking about the sacrifices of soldiers, a maximum number of them hails from the region, he said, “People of Haryana have given their lives for the nation by serving in the armed forces.”
