Celebrated screenplay writer Salim Khan on Monday, went on social networking site Twitter and expressed his opinion on the implementation of the much debated Uniform Civil Code. Khan said that the triple talaq, in his opinion was against the Quranic principle. Criticising the ones protesting against the Universal Civil Code, he said that those who are resisting the USS, are only a few clerics and might have been misunderstood against a few Muslims. He firmly stated that it did not interfere with the religion of Islam at all.

He said that 33% of all the Muslims live in various countries as minorities, where there is no personal or Islamic law, yet they all live in peace. He said that the larger question is if Muslims were following Islam at all! Talking to all the clerics and leaders, he said that if they couldn’t lead the, then they shouldn’t mislead them either. Salim Khan had earlier slammed Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), for abusing his son Salman Khan, for visiting Pm Narendra Modi.

Earlier, Owaisi had sided with the Muslim Personal Law Board in their opposition of the Uniform Civil code but had said that his party would give a reply to the Law Commission questionnaire. Owaisi had said that the questionnaire was completely in favour of the UCC and should have been more objective.

Good muslims will be progressive. Remember the Golden years of music was when they were liberal during the 8th-11th century before the Ottomans came in. The uneducated, uncivilised muslims would be the oppressive ones. And the mullahs of India today are the oppressive ones. The civil code must be imposed. Otherwise secularism would be destro. No sharia in India. If you like sharia , go to islamic countries.
