Celebrated screenplay writer Salim Khan on Monday, went on social networking site Twitter and expressed his opinion on the implementation of the much debated Uniform Civil Code. Khan said that the triple talaq, in his opinion was against the Quranic principle. Criticising the ones protesting against the Universal Civil Code, he said that those who are resisting the USS, are only a few clerics and might have been misunderstood against a few Muslims. He firmly stated that it did not interfere with the religion of Islam at all.

He said that 33% of all the Muslims live in various countries as minorities, where there is no personal or Islamic law, yet they all live in peace. He said that the larger question is if Muslims were following Islam at all! Talking to all the clerics and leaders, he said that if they couldn’t lead the, then they shouldn’t mislead them either. Salim Khan had earlier slammed Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), for abusing his son Salman Khan, for visiting Pm Narendra Modi.
