Patna rally: Training his guns at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tej Pratap Yadav, speaking in classic Lalu Yadav tone and voice modulation, on Sunday said that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat “wears half pants because he has half mind”. Tej Pratap, addressing a grand Opposition rally in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, warned BJP and RSS against perpetrating any kind of communal violence in the state. He said, “Mohan Bhagwat, aren’t you ashamed you wear half pants despite your old age.” Tej Pratap, a former minister in Bihar Cabinet, added that his men from Dharma Nirpeksh Sevak Sangh (DSS) had chased away RSS at an earlier instance. Tej Pratap was referring to a little known apolitical outfit, DSS he formed sometime ago to counter RSS.

The rally, named ‘BJP bhagao desh bachao rally’, saw the presence of a number of political heavyweights including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, SP president Akhilesh Yadav, JD(U) stalwart Sharad Yadav and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. Earlier, Congress President Sonia Gandhi also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Congress president said that Modi is trying to silence the voice of opposition, which they will not allow to happen. Highlighting the government’s failures, Sonia Gandhi said that BJP came to power in various states on false promises.

“Youth are jobless, children are dying. BJP came to power on false promises,” Sonia said. She also lashed out at JDU and BJP for the formation on the recent alliance. The Congress chief said that people of the state have been betrayed by the formation of new government in Bihar.
