Union Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Friday said that former IPL chief Lalit Modi is making all attempts to shield himself and shift the burden on the politicians.
“From the day one, when this episode came out, he was trying to shield himself and he wants to shift the burden on other leaders, either in the ruling party or in the opposition,” Gowda told ANI.
“I think he is quite intelligent man to dupe the whole country and now sitting there in London he is creating all this sort of confusion so that somewhere the case should be dropped and somewhere political activity should go on so that he can rescue himself from the clutches of this law,” he added.
Raje has reportedly confessed to the BJP top brass that she signed an affidavit backing controversial Lalit Modi’s British immigration appeal.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had yesterday defended the BJP’s controversy-hit leaders, saying “nobody is tainted”.
