There has been much speculation about why Kerala Governor P Sathasivam has not been invited to the diamond jubilee celebrations that mark sixty years of the formation of the state of Kerala.
In his inaugural speech at the Vajra Keralam celebration, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan laid all speculations to rest by explaining that it is due to protocol restrictions that Kerala Governor P Sathasivam has not been invited.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan further explained that the main dais where the VajraKeralam celebrations were taking place had initially accommodated around 60 participants but later this underwent a change and many more participants had to accommodated. As per protocol restrictions, if the Governor of the State were to be present, there would be further restrictions on the number of participants to be allowed on the main dais.
It is yet to be seen whether Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s statement will fuel more controversy as to why Governor P Sathasivam was not invited on a day when Malayalis worldwide are celebrating “Vajra Keralam” – referring to the diamond jubilee celebrations marking sixty years since the formation of the state of Kerala.
Justice P Sathasivam, Kerala Governor, had conveyed “heartiest wishes” to the people of Kerala who are celebrating the diamond jubilee marking sixty years since the formation of the state.
