Responding to manhandling of former Delhi water minister Kapil Mishra in Delhi Assembly by the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader Parvesh Verma said Arvind Kejriwal has turned Delhi into Lalu Yadav’s Bihar, reported ANI. In a statement which may raise a few eyebrows, Verma said such incidents were only reported from Bihar when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the chief minister of state. “Aisa hum Bihar me dekhte they jab Lalu raj hota tha. Delhi ko Bihar Kejriwal ne bana diya hai (we used to see these incidents in Bihar when Lalu was ruling the state. Kejriwal has turned Delhi into Bihar),” Verma was quoted saying by the agency.

In a dramatic session of Delhi Assembly which turned ugly on Wednesday when sacked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kapil Mishra was attacked by AAP MLAs and others, after which the Speaker ordered him to be marshalled out of the house. “You (Kejriwal and Satyender Jain) have been exposed. All your hawala interactions are with me. Kejriwal’s relatives are under the scanner now. Jain’s frauds, Rs. 300 crore medicines scam is all exposed now. I will expose them,” said Mishra after coming out of the assembly.

The incident was criticised by the Assembly speaker as well. “Whatever happened today inside the Delhi Assembly is unfortunate. I am deeply disturbed with the incident. Whatever they (AAP MLAs) did was wrong. The MLAs should not have left their seats,” Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel said after the incident. “During the 49-day AAP govt, we witnessed such scenes. It has happened even at the Lok Sabha. However, it was the first such incident during my tenure as speaker. Mishra’s demand to call one-day session at Ramlila Maidan was not right. I can also take action against this,” he said.
