In a dramatic press conference today Kapil Mishra accused Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of “massive” financial irregularities and then dramatically fainted. He had accused Kejriwal of turning black money into white and creating a number of shell companies to hide the trail. He also accused the AAP chief of making false statements to Election Commission and Income-Tax department. In his reaction, social activist and former ‘mentor’ of Kejriwal, Anna Hazare told CNN News18 an “honest man should not fear probe”.
The former Delhi water minister, on Sunday in his second press conference, told the media that AAP had received “crores of rupees” from “shell companies” run by people close to Kejriwal, reported news agency PTI. He further alleged that there were discrepancies in the money received by AAP and the amount it declared before the Election Commission. Mishra added that he will go to CBI and hand over all the evidence in this matter. In accusations, Mishra alleged Kejriwal was hiding money from the Income Tax department besides claiming that during the demonetisation period the Delhi CM put in motion attempt to turn black money into white, added the PTI report.

Mishra, who earlier had claimed that he had seen Health Minister Satyendar Jain pay Rs two crore to Kejriwal, demanded the latter’s resignation. Fasting in protest against AAP’s refusal to disclose details of five leaders’ travels abroad, Mishra said that if Kejriwal did not step down, he would “drag” the CM by his “collar” and take him to Tihar jail.
Soon after the press conference, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) asked for Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation. The party on its Twitter handle posted: “Ex AAP minister @KapilMishraAAP exposes black money transactions of AAP through donations. Kejriwal must resign now.”

While AAP’s Sanjay Singh raised questions over the presence of Neil (Hasam), who Mishra said helped in “exposing” the funding and alleged the saffron party behind Kapil Mishra’s allegation. In his tweet, Singh wrote “Aaj PC mein kapil Mishra ke saath Neil kyon tha? BJP ko samne aakar ladna chahiye, peechhey se sajish rachna band kare BJP”.
