Justin Trudeau in India Live Updates: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is in India for a week-long visit, held meetings with top business leaders today in Mumbai. Earlier in the day, Justin Trudeau met with Infosys CEO & MD Salil Parekh, Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, and Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group. Also on his itinerary is a meeting with representatives from the film industry on this third day in India. Trudeau’s India visit has so far seen the leader visit the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra and the Mathura Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Centre in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The very next day, Trudeau visited Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. Later on Monday, the Canadian PM held a discussion at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. On February 21, Justin Trudeau will visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar and meet with Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh. He will leave for New Delhi on the same day. On February 22, Justin Trudeau will visit the Jama Masjid. He will also be delivering a lecture before business leaders from Canada and India. It is on February 23 when Justin Trudeau will meet his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two state heads are expected to hold discussions on a number of topics. On his last day in India, on February 24, the Canadian Prime Minister is expected to talk during a conference of young change-makers.

8:30 pm: After Trudeau lands in Amritsar, he will be received by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday.
8:15 pm: The Canadian PM met Maharastra CM Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai today.
8:01 pm: He also spoke about the “extraordinary diversity” of this country and said “this pluralism comes with its own challenges but are immensely beneficial”.
7:45 pm: “We also spoke about Canadian companies investing in India, whether it is pension funds or others,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.
7:30 pm: Explaining about his interactions with the Indian business leaders, the Canadian PM said prospects of his country’sinvestments in India were also discussed, especially the role played by the pension funds of Canada.
7:15 pm: The Canadian PM also had a roundtable with women business leaders including ICICI Bank chief Chanda Kochhar and Swati Piramal of the Piramal Group, among others at Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai.
