In one of the deadliest attacks on security forces in recent times, terrorists attacked an Indian Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri area, killing 17 soldiers. 19 security personnel have also been injured in the attack. An Indian Army spokesperson has said that four terrorists have been neutralised by the security forces. The attack took place at the Indian Army’s administrative base in Uri. Combing operations are currently underway to sanitise the area.
The terrorists attacked the camp in the wee hours of the morning today. PTI reported that explosions and gunfire erupted as the terrorists attacked the camp, The camp is located barely few metres away from the Indian Army’s Brigade Headquarters in Uri town. Many soldiers from the Dogra Regiment were stationed there and the attack led to tents catching fire.
