J&K standoff comes to an end; 4 militant bodies recovered with ammunitions

What started on Sunday morning as a fierce gun battle between the security personnels and militants has come to an end on Tuesday evening at Poonch district.

What started on Sunday morning as a fierce gun battle between the security personnels and militants has come to an end on Tuesday evening at Poonch district.

After taking refuge in an under construction mini secretariat building the militants engaged in a fierce fire fighting with the members of the armed forces. A policeman was killed before the infiltrators took shelter in the building. Two security personnel received serious injuries in the course of the gun battle.

The encounter continued until all the four militants were killed and their bodies recovered. As per senior army officials the militants were able to leverage the building to their benifit and kept firing from several rooms of the two storied building.

Apart from the four recovered bodies of the terrorists, arms and ammunitions like four AK-47, 16 magazines were also recovered as updated by news agnecy ANI.

Residents of Poonch and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir have blamed Pakistan for spreading unrest in the occassion of Eid.
