An irate passenger was today detained after he was overpowered by Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH 9648 crew and co-passengers after creating ruckus mid-air.

An irate passenger was today detained after he was overpowered by Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH 9648 crew and co-passengers after creating ruckus mid-air.

The passenger attempted to damage facilities on Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH 9648, which departed from Taizhou City in Zhejiang Province and was landing in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in Guangdong province at around 1 am, according to the airport officials.

The passenger was overpowered by flight crew and other passengers immediately, they said.

The airport initiated emergency response and evacuated 95 passengers and nine crew members after the plane landed.

Two people, who were injured in the incident, were sent to a nearby hospital, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Flight operations at the airport has been resumed. Further investigation is underway, the report said.
