Indrani Mukherjea the prime suspect in the Sheena Bora murder case, who was admitted at the JJ hospital on Friday with a case of alleged overdose, is now in a semi-conscious state and is likely to be under observation for the next 72 hours.

“We can’t say that Indrani Mukherjea is out of danger, because her respiration is not yet normal. She may take another 72 hours to recover,” said Dr.T P Lahane, the Dean of the hospital.

“Yesterday Indrani Mukherjea was unconscious, but now her condition is semi-conscious and she responds to verbal commands, she opens her eyes when a command is given. Her respiratory depression is low,” he added.

Lahane also said that Indrani Mukherjea’s report from Hinduja hospital pointed that there was not an opium poisoning and that the doctors’ awaited further reports, after which the picture would become clearer.

“She is being given oxygen. We haven’t put her on ventilator, but the respiratory depression continues,” he added.

Indrani Mukherjea was admitted to the JJ Hospital with initial complaints of chest pain after she allegedly had an overdose of pills and her condition was declared to be serious.
