7:37 PM: Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar has been named as the next Chief Justice of India, who will succeed incumbent T S Thakur, who is set to retire on January 3 next year.

9:18 AM: Meanwhile, a special event was held at the Parliament complex to commemorate Ambedkar’s death, which was attended by the Vice President Hamid Ansari, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran leader LK Adavani, former prime minister Manmohan Singh among other political top brass.
