The Indian Army on Tuesday said it has destroyed Pakistan Army posts in the Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir as part of its anti-terror operations. The posts were destroyed as they were supporting the infiltration of Pakistani army into India, the Additional Director, General Public Information, of Indian Army Maj Gen Ashok Narula said. The Indian Army also released a video of the strike.
“Army has inflicted damage to post across LoC in Naushera sector in response to firing by Pak,” Narula told reporters. He said that Pakistan has been helping “armed infiltrators” to sneak into the Indian territory. “Pakistan Army has been providing support to armed infiltrators,” Narula said, adding, “An increase in infiltration activities is speculated due to the opening of passes and melting of snow,” he added.
According to ANI and several other media reports, the Indian Army sources said the strike took place on May 9. However, soon after the video of the India’s attack on Pakistani posts was released, Pakistan issued a routine response, saying India Army’s claim was “false”.

Major General Asif Ghafoor, the official spokesperson of Pakistan Armed Forces, tweeted: “Indian claims of destroying Pakistani post along LOC in Naushera Sec and firing by Pak Army on civilians across LOC are false.”
Incidentally, on May 13, Ghafoor had shared an ISPR release, hinting at the punitive action against Pakistani posts undertaken by the Indian Army. However, the release twisted India’s strike on Pakistan’s terror-aiding posts by claiming that New Delhi was targeting “innocent civilians.” “Indian Army has been targeting innocent civilians on both sides of Line of Control in recent past. Any misadventure by Indian Army across Line of Control will be a miscalculation, shall be responded with full force and could lead to unintended consequences,” the ISPR release had warned.

This is not the first time when Pakistan Army has lied to save itself from domestic as well as global embarrassment. In September last year, the country had denied that India carried out surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the LoC in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Not only this, Pakistan army indulged in a sort of drama by organising a tour of international journalists to some border areas to prove India didn’t carry any surgical strike.
Last month, Pakistani Army had crossed the border into Indian territory and cowardly beheaded two brave Indian soldiers.
