Indian and Chinese troops remain in a position of Stand-off in Ladakh following China stopping the MNREGA project. It was reported by India Today, that Chinese troops have taken position on the Line of Control. The two countries have been at loggerheads, for what seems like the inception of time over the issue of disputed border. China had further gone and supported Pakistan following the Uri attack in India, that had claimed the lives of 19 army men. China’s close association with the CPEC and the Baltistan region doesn’t help the cause either.

Slogans to boycott Chinese goods were also heard all over India after China open support to Pakistan. earlier, China had opposed the Dalai LAma’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh, a state that comes under the ‘disputed land’ status. China had also opposed US envoy to India, Richard Verma’s visit to the state. AT the BRICS Summit 2016 in Goa, China had refused to participate in the BRICS trade fair.

China has repeatedly claimed Arunachal Pradesh to be part of Southern Tibet and has routinely protested against any political or another leader from visiting the state.

More details awaited…

More fortification at disputed border posts with Chinese is needed so that 1967 Sikkim like retort can be given to Chinese. Some M-777 at fly away condition, along with BrahMos and Mountain strike Corps has to be engaged to repel Chinese.
