In a shocking and inhumane case of medical negligence, two doctors at Jodhpur’s Umaid Hospital engaged in a verbal spat inside the operation theatre. In a video that was shared by news agency ANI on its Twitter handle, these two doctors can be seen shouting at each other while the surgery was on. As per a report by The Indian Express, the pregnant woman was undergoing an emergency C-section and since the doctors were busy fighting with each other, the newborn died.

The news was confirmed by the hospital superintendent who said that the doctors could not save the newborn baby. “When the woman was admitted, the fetus was in distress. It had a low heartbeat. We will probe the reason for the newborn’s death,” he said. Both these doctors were immediately removed from their duty, said Umaid Hospital principal, AL Bhat after the incident. “Both doctors have been removed immediately and disciplinary action will be taken against them,” he was quoted saying by ANI.

Here is the shocking viral video of the incident:

In this video, the doctors were seen exchanging expletives in Hindi. They were identified as Dr Ashok Neniwal, a gynaecologist, and anesthetist Dr ML Tak, IE reported while citing TV reports. The real reason behind the fight is still not clear. The video was shot on a mobile phone even though carrying them into the operation theatre is restricted as they are known to spread infection. However, FinancialExpress.com cannot verify the authenticity of the video.

Disgraceful on the part of the surgeons. Unfit to be in the profession. Their services should be terminated forthwith.
