Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan landed in fresh trouble on Wednesday, with the Delhi Police lodging an FIR against him along with his supporters for allegedly assaulting a person.
The complainant in the FIR accused Amanatullah Khan and his supporters of attacking him on the intervening night of October 16-17.
As per the report, The Okhla MLA has been booked under sections 323, 341 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Last month, he was sent to jail in connection with a sexual harassment case filed against him by his sister-in-law. The woman had alleged that Amanatullah Khan had been harassing her for the last four years.
On October 14, Amanatullah Khan was questioned by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) for about three hours in connection with a recruitment scam in Delhi Waqf Board. He was questioned after separate complaints of “irregularities” in recruitments in the Waqf Board filed by BJP leader and RTI activist Vivek Garg and another person named Mohammad Mustafa.
He was accused of several irregularities in scam after which he had to resign from all government posts. The Waqf Board was dissolved by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on October 7 and all the appointments made by Khan were cancelled.
