Continuing her diatribe against the BJP government over demonetisation, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today called Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ‘totally arrogant’. In a tweet, she said “Modi babu, you are totally arrogant. You are responsible for 120 plus deaths”.

She also listed out the number of deaths ’caused by demonetisation’ across various states, with UP topping the list with 32, followed by West Bengal at 13 and Maharashtra at 11.

Banerjee had been vocal against the Centre’s note ban move right from day one and demanded roll back of the decision as she felt it was hurting the common and the poor man.

She even said that demonetisation is causing many industries to get closed, making people jobless.

The latest provocation for Banerjee to launch the tirade against the Prime Minister was his tweet announcing financial relief to the pilgrims who died while returning from Gangasagar Mela allegedly due to stampede, which the state government vehemently denied saying that they died due to old age and infirmity.

      1. Smt. Mamata Banerjee is perhaps living in her own world when she is making wild statements against PM Shri Narendra Modi. A few days back she wanted that NDA government be replaced by a 'national government'. She should realise that really no one takes her seriously when she makes outlandish demands like that. 2. It is clear from her criticism and that of many politicians like Smt. Banerjee, Mr Rahul hi & Smt. Mayawati belonging to different opposition parties that for them demonetisation decision is not a fiscal/monetary measure, but a political act, affecting their vote banks. Naturally, they are unhappy but let them show some patience. 3. In the coming Uttar Pradesh embly all these leaders belonging to opposition parties have an equal opportunity to seek votes on the basis of ill-effects of demonetisation. But I think they should realise that ordinary citizens understand and accept that demonetisation was necessary to curb, and curb effectively, generation of unaccounted wealth. Hence it is not easy to make appeal to voters on the basis of so-called ill-effects of demonetisation.

Mamata didi you are totally immature and anti-national. Ranting against the PM of the nation about how you will tie him with a rope and will ensure his down fall etc is a sure sign of immaturity. Indulging in Muslim Communal Politics, ignoring Islamic terror threat and down playing the acts of terrorism by Jihadi elements in Bengal makes you an anti-national. TMC is very clearly a Muslim Communal Party and there will be a steep price to pay for it
