Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant was sent a Rs 5 crore defamation legal notice by Honeypreet Insan’s mother Asha Taneja, accusing her of defaming close aide of Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim for cheap publicity by making unsubstantiated allegations against her. However, Rakhi Sawant is not at all affected by this notice and threatened to counter sue Honeypreet’s mother for Rs 20 crore. Hitting back, the Bollywood actress said that it was planned by Asha Taneja’s lawyer Momin Malik who is instigating Honeypreet’s mother for money and cheap publicity.
“This is all planned not by Honeypreet’s mother but by her lawyer Momin Malik who is instigating Honeypreet’s mother for money and cheap publicity, His logic for this absurd notice is to get some money for Honeypreet’s mother whose daughter is in jail by extracting Rs 5 crore from Rakhi Sawant,” the actress was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
Sawant added that she is not a fool and will present her allegations in the court. “I’ve all the evidence regarding my allegations against Honeypreet and her father and I am going to present it in court. If they are suing me for Rs 5 crores they’ve to deposit Rs 5 lakhs in the court. I am going to sue them for Rs 20 crores and I’ve the Rs. 20 lakhs ready to be deposited,” she added.
Rakhi didn’t spare Honeypreet’s mother too by saying that she should be ashamed of herself for trying to extract the actress’ hard-earned money. “I haven’t done the allegedly dirty things that Honeypreet has allegedly done to get her wealth. I’ve slogged hard to get my money and if anyone eyes my money I’ll smash their eyes,” she said.
The police charge sheet had stated that entire Panchkula violence that claimed the lives of 36 people and left over 250 people injured was hatched inside the Dera headquarters in Sirsa by Honeypreet and 45 other Dera members. In the 1,200 page charge sheet, police have accused Honeypreet under Section 120 (criminal conspiracy), Section 121 (sedition) and Section 121-A. Honeypreet had earlier managed to escape police six times with reports of her fleeing to Nepal and was also said to have been been seen in Delhi.
