With the internal confrontations within the Samajwadi Part refuse to die, the trio of Yadav, Mulayam, Akhilesh and Shivpal aired their grievances and views in front of party workers and other leaders today.
While Akhilesh said he had no plan to leave the party his uncle Shivpal Yadav said the former was lying since he had threatened to do just that and this was the reason for his urging to elder brother and party president Mulayam Singh Yadav to “take over reins of Uttar Pradesh”
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav spoke of his grievances against uncle Shivpal who called him a liar and said that while the former has suggested that he will not form a rival party, in private, he has threatened to do just that.
In what came as a shock was that at one time when Akhilesh was expressing his grievance, Shivpal snatched the mic from him and started elaborating his hard work for the party, even saying that he toured the entire state in the cycle in order to strengthen the cardre ahead of polls. When someone from the audience pointed out that Shivpal have also used government helicopter for his travel, suggesting that he was backed by the chief minister, Shivpal retorted by saying that he used the chopper since he was a minister then.
In September, Akhilesh Yadav first sacked Shivpal as a cabinet minister, only to take him back after an intervention by his father. On Sunday, Shivpal was removed for a second time again along with three other ministers. At the party meet today, Mulayam made it clear while Akhilesh will continue to remain Chief Minister, his close friend Amar Singh, and brother Shivpal are dispensable to him.
