Gurgaon: Scorpio crushes three-year-old, thrice

A three-year-old girl died after being run over thrice by a Scorpio car in Gurgaon’s Sohna area early Monday morning, said police. A three year old girl was crushed to death by a Scorpio car in the Sohna area of Gurgaon in the early hours of Monday.

A three-year-old girl died after being run over thrice by a Scorpio car in Gurgaon’s Sohna area early Monday morning, said police. A three year old girl was crushed to death by a Scorpio car in the Sohna area of Gurgaon in the early hours of Monday. The victim, Mansi was playing outside her house when a Scorpio car hit her. According to the police, she came under the left front wheel. According to the eyewitnesses, the driver under panic, hit the victim two more times while trying to flee. The driver ultimately left the vehicle on the spot and fled on foot.

The victim’s father, Krishen filed a case of rash driving and death due to negligence under section 279 and 304A of the IPC against the driver. According to the investigating officer, Kishan Kumar, the child died on the spot and the team has sent the body for post-mortem examination. The crime vehicle has been seized by the investigation team.

Police has identified the accussed as Sanjay, a 32 year old who lives in the same neighbourhood. The identification of the victim was made with the help of the witnesses.

Sanjay who lives in the same neighbourhood “We have traced the owner of the vehicle. He was identified by eyewitnesses since he lives in the same neighbourhood. His identity was confirmed through the vehicle’s number plate as well. He is absconding but we expect to nab him soon,” said Kumar.

Police said people in the locality have told them that the man driving the vehicle is a Junior Basic Training teacher in a government school in Sohna.
