A political outcry is set to ensue following the alleged suicide of Ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal who took the decision to end his life over the issue of OROP. While the last rites of the Grewal will be performed in his home town, Haryana, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi reached the residence of the deceased. Earlier in the day, TMC leader Derek O’Brien visited the family of Grewal in Bhiwani, Haryana.

“If Rahul Gandhi or Mr. Kejriwal wanted to meet the family they should have been allowed. There is double grieving happening here – one for their loss, and other for what happened yesterday. Family shouldn’t have been manhandled,” said Derek O’Brien.

While on the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also scheduled to attend the funeral of Grewal and meet his family members in Bhiwani today. Remarking on the detention of Kejriwal outside the RMl Hospital on Wednesday, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee tweeted, “This is all happening in the name of political vendetta. Issues like these make me deeply concerned about national integrity and unity. Very sad that one of our former jawans committed suicide. Unfortunate that Rahul Gandhi and Manish Sisodia were stopped from visiting bereaved family. What is happening ? Unprecedented . A CM is detained in his own State. He cannot move about freely. Unacceptable”

Robert Vadra while speaking on the issue expressed his condolences and said, “Let’s not only talk jargons. Let govt do the real thing for our soldiers. My heartfelt condolences to family.” Former Home minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday demanded the removal of Delhi police commissioner over the detainment of Rahul Gandhi and other political leaders following the alleged suicide by an ex-serviceman.

According to Times Now, Congress plan to stage a demonstration at the Jantar Mantar today, protesting the death of Grewal.

Meanwhile, forensic experts on Wednesday conducted the postmortem of the body of Ram Kishan Grewal. The body was sent to Lady Hardinge Hospital early on Wednesday from RML Hospital where he had died after being rushed there on Tuesday.
