Vishal Dadlani, singer and leader of Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday bid farewell to the party following criticism over his remark on Jain Muni Tarun Sagar. Vishal Dadlani in his tweet had posted a picture of the saint, the picture read “Monkery of Democracy – Monk giving religious sermon in Vidhan Sabha”. He had mocked the Jain saint for addressing the assembly, naked.
Vishal Dadlani was referring to Jain Muni Tarun Sagar’s address in Haryana Vidhan Sabha where the saint had talked about Narendra Modi govt’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’.
The tweet attracted criticism from several followers including Arvind Kejriwal who, in a tweet had said, “He is a very revered saint not just for Jains but everyone. Those showing disrespect is unfortunate and shud stop”.

Vishal Dadlani had later apologised for offending the religious sentiments of people and in his defence had said that he only meant to say that he wants religion and governance to remain separated.
In a recent development, Jain saint, Tarun Sagar said that he did not even know about Vishal Dadlani’s comment and said that he forgives him for making the statement.
According to the speaker, Jain Saint, Tarun Sagar was unanimously invited by the house after an All-party meeting, The saint in his lecture, had addressed the disturbed sex ratio of the state and had made a couple of suggestions for changing people’s perspective on a girl child. Saints not taking Bhiksha (donation) from the families which do not have a daughter, being one of the suggestion. He congratulated Sakshi Malik, Dipa Karmakar and PV Sindhu for their performance in the Olympics. He had also criticised politicians who do not deliver after winning the elections.
