A fire broke out this morning at the Sadar Bazar area in north Delhi. So far no casualty has been reported. Nine fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flame. So far, the fire is under control, a report said. The fire was reported 7 am. Earlier this month, nearly 300 dwellings were ravaged and almost 700 people rendered homeless as a fire broke out in a slum at the Sadar Bazar area, injuring at least four persons.
The area had a few cracker godowns and the crackers burst due to the fire aggravating the situation, he said, adding that a few LPG cylinders also burst, triggering more damage. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately and their first priority was to rescue those affected. NDRF teams are also involved in the rescue operations, police had said.
